Solite, Inc. and Oldover Corporation in Stanly County, NC were issued a Notice of Violation on July 14, 1999 for exceeding limits set down in the July 15, 1998 settlement agreement between them and the NC Division of Air Quality. In Solite's Air Permit specific conditions and limitations requires minimum control efficiencies of 50.0 percent for Mercury and 60.0 percent for acid gases. The state determined that the average control efficiencies achieved during the testing were about 34.1 percent for mercury and 20.1 percent for hydrogen chloride. NC Division of Air Quality finds this constitutes two violations of Solite's permit. - posted July 20,
