Duke Energy May Be a Monopoly – But the Money Is Real and It’s Coming Out of Your Pocket!

Let the People’s Voice Be Heard!

Monday, July 8

12:00 Noon -- Press Conference & Ratepayer's Assembly
1:30 p.m. -- Duke Energy Rate Hike Hearing

Halifax Mall outside the Dobbs Building
430 North Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC

Duke Energy wants another big rate increase from North Carolina consumers to build climate-busting power plants we don't even need. Its request is headed for judicial review. An evidentiary hearing will be held at 1:30 p.m. on July 8th where public testimony will not be allowed. But that doesn’t mean the people won’t be heard!

Join a coalition of environmental, consumer, social justice and other community groups as well as small business owners and North Carolina ratepayers an hour before the hearing at a press conference.

We’ll be calling attention to the thousands of written and photo petitions from ratepayers across the Duke Energy service area and calling for a denial of Duke’s rate hike request.

The press conference will be followed by special surprise performances that make it plain: just because Duke Energy is a monopoly doesn’t make it okay for them to play around with your money!

Share it on Facebook and Twitter!

Turnout at the public hearings has been encouraging and the momentum of the movement against Duke Energy is building.

Be a part of it! Come for the ratepayer's assembly and stay to see Duke execs squirm under cross-examination.
