Join us there! Encourage local small business owners to speak out as well.

Duke is shifting the costs of building new power plants onto families, small business and local governments. Duke Energy originally proposed a rate increase of 13.9% for residential users and rates that would grow by up to 10.7% for small to medium-sized businesses. A proposed settlement agreement between Duke and the Utilities Commission’s Public Staff could still hike household rates by 7% or more, and it’s the third such increase in four years.

You can read more about this in our fact sheet and learn other secrets of the Duke Energy rate hike request at ncwarn.org/BurningThePublic.
